Thanks for your report on the not too common Common Poorwill. I went up the Loafer Canyon last night (July 16) at 9:30 pm and saw two different Poorwills right where you said they would be. I heard one calling too (probably a third individual), which was a treat.
Thanks for all your sightings, they are very helpful to all of us amateurs.

Hi,
Anyone who might want to see COMMON POORWILL in Utah County should drive slowly up Loafer Canyon above Elk Ridge around 9:15-9:30pm. I was walking in the canyon last evening and saw no less than five different poorwill feeding along the road. They were found the last half mile before the locked gate. They were easy to get close to and get good looks.
