SEPTEMBER MEETING: Thursday, September 11th. Kendall Brown, who is a member of the BYU history faculty and a contributor the Utah Birds Photo Gallery will present at the September meeting. He will be showing some of his photographs and discussing birds and bird photography.Meet at 7:00 PM in the Bean Museum Auditorium on the BYU Campus.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------FIELD TRIPS: September 6 (Sat): Sanpete County (changed from "Skyline Drive") - 7:00 a.m. - 12 p.m. - Led by Lu Giddings. Meet at Springville Walmart. We'll drive south from Springville to Nephi and then through Nephi Canyon to Fountain Green. We'll spend the morning working our way through various stops in San Pete Valley. This will hopefully be a good opportunity to add to your San Pete county list.September 12-14 (Fri - Sun): UOS Fall Conference - This year will be held at Weber State University in Ogden. Visit http://www.utahbirds.org/uos/2008%20Conference%20Documents.pdf for Details. September 27th (Sat): Squaw Peak Road - Utah Valley raptor watch - Led by Eric Huish. We will bird along the Squaw Peak Road until around 11 a.m. then we will sit out at 'Hawk Knoll' and watch the hawks migrate by (weather permitting). Meet at 9:00 a.m. at the 800 North park-and-ride just East of the gas station at the mouth of Provo Canyon. Bring a lunch and drink if you plan on staying the whole day.October 4-5 (Sat-Sun): Washington County - Led by Lu Giddings - potential stops include Grafton, Springdale, Rockville, and other areas, depending on activity. Further details to be announced.October 12 (Sun): The Big Sit - Provo Airport Dike - led by Eric Huish - details TBA.November 15 (Sat): Loon Loop - Led by Lu Giddings - 7:00 a.m., meet at Sam's Club parking lot, 1313 S. University Ave., Provo: we plan to visit various reservoirs and lakes in search of loons and winter waterfowl, depending on bird activity.
