Hi all,

Danny Nielsen, Matt Westover and I went down to
Skipper Bay Trail and the Airport Dike on Saturday
afternoon. There were 2 adult BALD EAGLES out on the
ice on Provo Bay. We saw them from the southeast
corner of the airport dike (*Enter using the east
entrance to the dike, park where the road takes the
first major bend to the right (west)). The birds were
far away and visible with a scope. They were not on
the inner marshy areas of the bay but were beyond all
of the vegetation and out on the ice on the open bay.

Along the creek beside the dike was a Great Blue
Heron.

In the flooded fields east of Skipper Bay Trail were
thousands of ducks, with many of the expected species
present:

Redhead (2)
Green-winged Teal
Northern Pintail
Mallard
Northern Shoveler
American Wigeon
Cinnamon Teal (~10)
Gadwall

Also in the field were at least 4 American Pipits,
Killdeer (6) , Western Meadowlark (1), Canada Goose,
Black-billed Magpie, Red-winged Blackbird (40),
American Robin, American Coot, American Crow, and etc.

On Utah Lake there were 3 Double-crested Cormorants
and 20 or so Common Mergansers.
