The RED-BREASTED MERGANSER that was reported by David Walton on 31 Dec
2007 was there on 1 Jan 2008.  Here are a couple of pictures:

I received the message about the merganser from David just as Eric
Huish, Leena Rogers, Tuula Rose and I were about to head out for a New
Years day birding adventure.  We got 55 species of birds (Leena my be
sending in the list later) including 10 or 11 species of raptors. Good
way to start the new year.
