Good birding at Fish Springs National Wildlife Refuge. Species seen on Sat. April, 12: Canada goose, Gadwall, American Wigeon, Mallard, Blue-winged Teal, Cinnamon Teal, Northern Shoveler, Canvasback, Redhead, Bufflehead, Common Merganser, Ruddy Duck, Pied-billed Grebe, American White Pelican, Double-crested Cormorant, Great Blue Heron, Snowy Egret, Long-billed Curlew, Nothern Harrier, Red-tailed Hawk, American Kestrel, American Coot, Sandhill Crane, Killdeer, Black-necked Stilt, American Avocet, Long-billed Dowitcher, California Gull, Mourning Dove, Black-billed Magpie, Common Raven, Horned Lark, Bank Swallow, Marsh Wren, American Robin, Starling, Fox Sparrow, White-crowned Sparrow, Red-winged Blackbird, Yellow-headed Blackbird, Western Meadowlark, Bronze-headed Cowbird, American Goldfinch, House Sparrows. There were 44 species total, seen in about 2 hours. Good birding.
