OCTOBER MEETING:

Wed, Oct 10th.

Our speaker will be Larry Darnall. He is coordinator of a new migratory 
birds program for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. He has worked with 
Utah wildlife for 11 years and will speak on “Shorebirds and the Great Salt 
Lake.”

Meet at 7:00 PM in the Bean Museum Auditorium on the BYU Campus.


NOVEMBER MEETING:

Wed, Nov 14th.

Program TBA - Meet at 7:00 PM in the Bean Museum Auditorium on the BYU 
Campus.


DECEMBER MEETING:

Wed, Dec 12th.

Christmas Bird Count Preparation - We will receive instruction and 
assignments for the Provo CBC.
Please bring your field guides with you, we will discuss birds that might 
pose an identification problem. Final assignments will be made for areas to 
cover during the count, and folders will be distributed to area leaders.

Meet at 7:00 PM in the Bean Museum Auditorium on the BYU Campus.

FIELD TRIPS:

Oct 14th (Sun): The Big Sit - Provo Airport Dike - Come to the Southeast 
corner of the Provo Airport Dike anytime between 6:30 a.m. and Noon or 
between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. to join in this years Big Sit.

Oct 26-27th (Fri-Sat): Moab and surroundings. Overnight in Moab Friday 
night; make your own arrangements (see http://www.moab-utah.com/ for a list 
of places to stay). Meet Saturday morning 7:30 a.m. at The Moab Diner (189 
South Main). Will visit the Scott M. Matheson Wetlands Preserve and other 
places in and around town.

November 17 (Sat): November loon loop - day trip, meet at Sam’s Club parking 
lot, 1313 S. University Ave., Provo: we plan to visit various reservoirs 
beginning with Deer Creek and ending with East Canyon in search of loons and 
winter waterfowl.

December 22 (Sat): Provo CBC - Call Merrill Webb or come to the December UCB 
meeting on the 12th if you wish to participate.

December 29 (Sat): Bluff CBC - details TBA

January 25 - 27, 2008: St. George Winter Bird Festival - make your own 
arrangements

February 9, 2008: Bald Eagles at Farmington Bay: details TBA
