Just after noon yesterday (Monday), there were two male BLUE-WINGED
TEAL seen from the birding tower at the north end of 4000 west near
Lake Shore. They were in the water just to the northeast of the tower
along the semi-submerged fenceline.
Also seen by me and many students from Park Elmentry School in Spanish
Fork -- the tower was station 3 on their wildlife field trip -- were 3
OSPREY, maybe 20 PELICANS, a MARBLED GODWIT, and a displaying WILLET
which was calling as it flew high up and around the area showing off
its black and white wings and persistant voice. I counted about 30
species in all.
Ya, gotta love spring!
Milt
