This morning I saw and heard a couple of Common Yellowthroats at the main Cutler Marsh bridge. The birds were in the marshy area on the south side of the road (Valley View Highway, 2nd North going west out of Logan) a little east of the bridge. On Mendon Road (600 South about 4400 West) I saw and heard a Virginia Rail, North 41⁰ 43.151' West 111⁰ 56.452'. I heard several Soras as I drove along Mendon Road. There must be a population boom among Soras this year. Still have not seen, heard, or been able to turn something else into a peep, or a Marbled Godwit.
Beautiful day for birding. Happy Mother's Day to all of you Moms.
