[TopOfUtah] Logan Mitigation Ponds & Fish Hatchery, 5/2/09

Birding in the rain at the Logan Mitigation Ponds (aka Sue's Ponds) and at
the Fish Hatchery along Utah 30.  Difficult viewing conditions at times. At
the Mitigation Ponds, all six swallow species, my foy Cache Co. Western
Kingbird (other people have already seen them in Cache Co.), and a flock of
8 shorebirds that flew 20-m over my head, low, and very fast, backlit, in
the rain.  Not dowitchers, not willet, not *Pluvialis* sp., not killdeer or
a larger shorebird.  Somewhere in the peep-phalarope mid-sized shorebird
range.  Wish I had a better look! Most likely they were just Wilson's
Phalaropes, but....

All three BLUE-WINGED TEAL continue....there are in the second pond from the
south, adjacent to the road.

At the Logan FH, not much. Checklists below.
