I saw some new year birds today. Just north of the Benson Ox-bow, aka Lower Bear River Overlook, at the pig farm there was a large flock of Cattle Egrets. I counted 29 birds, but I am sure that there were many more. At the bridge just south of the ox-bow there were Barn Swallows, Cliff Swalows, and Tree Swallows. At the Benson Marina the Osprey was sitting of the nest on the southern telephone pole platform. There were many White-faced Ibis in the Benson area, but I was not not able to locate a Glossy Ibis. There was one Western Kingbird near the Logan Polishing Ponds.
