Because negative data is still data . . .

Last night I went owling up the road to Tony Grove in Logan Canyon with
Stephanie Cobbold, Craig Fosdick, and Dominique Roche. We stopped at
several points along the road (maybe five?) as well as two points in the
Tony Grove campground. At each point, we listened quietly for several
minutes and then played a recording of a Northern Saw-whet Owl. At
several points we also played a recording of a Boreal Owl. At one point
we heard two call notes during our broadcast that were likely from a
Saw-whet, but I couldn't be sure. They were not the typical "song", but
more like a bark, which Craig has heard come from a Saw-whet before, but
which I had not heard before. Other than that, we neither saw nor heard
any birds.

Good birding,
Ryan
