I know that Sandhill Cranes are not rare in Cache Valley, but seeing a Sandhill Crane chick is rare (at least I rarely ever see them). There is a pair of Sandhill Cranes at the Benson Ox-bow with a chick. I was able to get great looks at the chick from the overlook parking lot. I met Bob Atwood at Sue's pond (aka Mitigation Ponds west of Logan Landfill) and he pointed out a Red-necked Phalarope that is still hanging out at the pond. There were also a couple of Long-billed Dowitchers, Spotted Sandpiper, Bonaparte Gull, but no peeps.

Thanks.
Buck Russell
