I took a lunch break at Tony Grove with Anne - brought our snowshoes and
wandered around the woods a little.

Nothing too exciting to report, 1 Clark's Nutcracker, a handful of
Red-breasted Nuthatches calling back and forth, lots of Mountain Chickadees,
and a few big flocks of Pine Siskins. On the way down the mountain we
spotted Ravens flying around the cliffs and then a surprising Bald Eagle
sitting over the river about a mile down from the road to Tony Grove.

If you haven't been to Tony Grove lately, the road is still clear for the
first half up, but then it's snow and ice the rest of the way. Snowshoes or
skis required.

In backyard feeder news, I saw my second Cassin's Finch of the fall -
another female - at the feeders a couple days ago. Otherwise, it's loads of
House Finches and Pine Siskins with lower numbers of Chickadees, Juncos, and
occasional Goldfinches. No cases of eye disease yet this fall!
