I just got back from a trip and did a little birding around the valley
with Craig Fosdick and Jake Davidson to try to relocate some of the
birds that were reported while I was gone. We went to the Logan
Wetlands (also known as Sue's Ponds or the Mitigation Ponds, just west
of the Logan Landfill) and the Polishing Ponds (in Benson). We saw
neither Semipalmated Plovers nor Solitary Sandpipers, two species I was
hoping for. We did happen upon a young BLACK TERN foraging at the
Polishing Ponds. This species has apparently been numerous around the
Great Salt Lake lately, but up in Cache County this species is
considered "occassional (does not occur every year)" on the county
checklist, and has proven hard to find so far this year. A photo is
here:

Good birding,
