This evening I walked the Canal Trail in Logan (Cache Co.). Despite the
snow showers, I was able to locate some fun birds.
Here's what I saw/heard:
Mallard-4
Ring-necked Pheasant-1
Red-tailed Hawk-2 (female incubating, male perched next to nest)
Broad-tailed Hummingbird-4
Dusky Flycatcher-1 (first of year for me)
Black-capped Chickadee-4 (two pairs)
American Robin-10+ (one bird building a nest)
Hermit Thrush-1 (scolding; first of year for me)
European Starling-x
Yellow-rumped Warbler-2
Spotted Towhee-2
Chipping Sparrow-2
Dark-eyed Junco-1
Lazuli Bunting-3 (including at least one bird singing)
House Finch-x
Lesser Goldfinch-1
As an aside, it would be really helpful if every post to Utah Birds was
accompanied by the location where the sighting was made.
Thanks and good birding, Craig
Logan, Utah.
