[TopOfUtah] Birding at Logan River Golf Course

This morning, when it was still beautiful, warm and sunny spring weather,
Kim Sullivan's Ornithology class went birding at the Logan River Golf
Course. We began at Rendezvous Park and walked the trail that follows the
river through the trees. We saw mallards, wood ducks, a winter plumage
common goldeneye, and northern shovelers in the water. Flying overhead we
saw an american kestrel, sharp-shinned hawk, and a turkey vulture. In the
treetops and low brush, we saw lots of common songbirds including american
robins, american goldfinch, european starlings, black-capped chickadees and
were rewarded by spotting a small group of yellow-rumped warblers in
breeding plumage. In addition, we saw a few ruby-crowned kinglets flitting
at the tops of trees, a white-breasted nuthatch, and a northern flicker.
