Utah Birders -- Today (5/1) I found a couple target species in Washington
County. Here are directions in case birders are headed here for the weekend.
- Hooded Oriole: In palm trees at entrance to The Springs at Snow Canyon
community, just below the southern entrance to Snow Canyon State Park--you
drive right by it on the left.
- Scott's Oriole: After about 6-7 miles of the gravel road to Lytle off Old
Hwy 91. One singing next to the road on the right at the turnoff signposted
"Crazy Springs/Indian Spring" to the right. Another singing nearby about 200
yards past the sideways brown sign indicating 3 miles to Lytle. The pair
were about 150 yards to the left downhill, and another heard singing below
this. This was my 12th stop along the route, about 3pm.
Good birding!
