I tried to send this email out a couple days ago and apparently it didn't go
through. Sorry about that, however, I just got back from Quail and there was
one Sabine's Gull there tonight (9/19).
Hello,
This evening (9/16) there were three immature Sabine's Gulls at Quail Creek
State Park. I took a few photos and watched them eventually fly off to the
south. After a brief stop by the SR-9 Ponds didn't turn them up, I headed
over to Sand Hollow State Park. I observed two Sabine's Gulls at Sand
Hollow, however I saw no sign of a third bird. I presume these were two of
the same gulls from Quail, however I suppose the original three could have
been at the sewer ponds or Stratton Pond.
I also saw my first Common Tern of the year (an adult with prominent dark
carpal bar).
Regards,
