Hello,

Today (10/11) there was a Dunlin at Sand Hollow State Park (Washington Co.,
UT). The Dunlin was on the emerged sandbar below the southwest dike
(visible from the parking lot), where all the gulls roost. This is only the
second Dunlin I've ever seen in Washington County. There were also 15-20
Caspian Terns among the many gulls on the sandbar. There were many notable
birds in the southeast corner of the reservoir as well, including a male
Wood Duck, Wilson's Snipe, Greater Yellowlegs, Baird's Sandpiper, and
Long-billed Dowitchers. I observed my first Common Loon of the fall on the
reservoir as well. Washington County's roving pack of Egyptian Geese (and
their pal, the Ruddy Shelduck) were also visiting Sand Hollow today.

And in case anyone is still wondering, I observed the continuing Neotropic
Cormorant at Quichapa Lake (Iron Co.) on Tuesday afternoon (10/09).

Best Regards,

Rick Fridell
