Hello,

Today (1/14) in the Hurricane Fields (Washington Co., UT) I saw several
Lapland Longspurs accompanying the huge flocks of Horned Larks. There are
several thousand Horned Larks moving throughout the Hurricane Fields. I
managed to pick out a few Lapland Longspurs in most flocks that remained
settled long enough to work through them with a scope. In one flock I saw
at least 8-10 longspurs. Raptors are also plentiful in the Hurricane Fields
with Red-Tailed Hawks making up the majority, followed closely by
Ferruginous Hawks, including a couple handsome dark-phased Ferruginous
Hawks. Today I counted at least 11 Ferruginous Hawks. There were also a
few Bald Eagles and a couple Prairie Falcons that kept the Horned Lark
flocks on the move.

Best Regards,

Rick Fridell
