I went back to Lytle on Sat. to see if I would be so lucky to see the same crazy numbers of migrants that were there the day before. There was still plenty of birds to look at but nothing like the numbers the day before. There seemed to be Green-tailed Towhee's and Black-throated gray Warblers everywhere I looked but the Flycatcher and Vireo numbers weren't anything like they were on Friday.Certainly the most surprising thing I saw was that the Broad-winged Hawk was still there in the same area. I thought it would be long gone. It appeared to be the same adult bird and looked to be hunting in the tall cottonwood trees between the parking area and the creek. I got closer better looks at it than I did on Friday. I guess the storm that came in Friday afternoon kept it around. Also the Golden-crowned Sparrow was still in the area around the water drip.Larry Tripp
