Hello,

The adult male White-winged Scoter was still present at Stratton Pond
(Grandpa's Fishing Pond, Hurricane) this morning (10/28). It is usually
swimming with the flock of Greater Scaup. So if there are any
procrastinators out there, you still have time to see this cool duck.

Also there were several late shorebirds at the SR-9 Sewage Ponds this
morning (NW pond) including a Spotted Sandpiper, Greater Yellowlegs, 7-10
Least Sandpipers, and 4 Long-billed Dowitchers. A scope is helpful for
picking these out along the rocky shores, but you may also need to peek
through the ever increasing honeysuckle hedge to view the gravel flat in the
northeast corner (of the northwest pond).

Regards,

Rick Fridell
