Our Bird Watch class went to Wilson's pond today.  What an absolute 
pleasure it was.  The White-Crowns have returned in mass.... and more 
Yellow-rumps than I have seen for a long time... and Red-shafted 
Flickers were willing to let us take their picture up close... Canada 
Geese, Malards, Coots, Wood Ducks, Ruby-crowned Kinglets, House 
Finches, American and Lesser Gold Finches, Spotted Towhees, Robins, 4 
dogs, 1 cat, Peacocks, Black Phoebe, 4 head cattle, King Fisher, 
American Kestrals, and some mixed-species.  Later we went to Stratton's 
Pond and saw the ones Rick saw earlier plus 8 Hooded Merganzers.  What 
a day.....  I love Fall.
