My official vote is for you to remain as the chairman and secretary of the
committee.
But if we can't convince you to stay on...."I accept Dennis as the new
secretary".

Since Dennis Shirley is the only nominee for the Secretary position, I
would suggest that every committee member respond to this email with

EITHER

"I accept Dennis as the new secretary" (or something in that vain)

OR

A suggestion on a different way to complete this process if you don't
think it's been done in an acceptable manner.

Please respond so we'll know that everyone is aware of the process and
is participating with it.
