I birded the meadows north of Heber City today from about 10:30 to noon and was finally reward by seeing 3 male bobolinks and 1 female. Also, from the same vantage point I spotted a Loggerhead shrike and 2 sandhill cranes.
I set up my spotting scope about a quarter mile west of the corner of 600 W. and 2400 N. The streets are poorly marked but there is an Overson Realty sign on the corner. I saw the bobolinks in a south westerly direction. Often I could catch them flying then they would either dive into the grass or perch on one of the fence posts.
Great day to bird after a rainy Sunday.
Paul
