I responded to Dave Jensen with the following which may be of interest:

"FYI - Don't be too quick to say that people weren't keeping records
back in the '80's. Myself, as President of Utah Audubon, Josh Burns,
Merrill Webb, Mark Leppert, Larry Malone, Steve Hedges and many more
did extensive birding in Salt Lake, Davis and surrounding counties.

As for Ash-throated Flycatcher in Salt Lake, in the" Utah Bird
Distribution: Latilong Study - 1983" It lists the ATFL as being
present in all northern Latilongs except Logan, Fish springs, Delta
and Manti. "Summer Resident (breeding documented)" was in in Lucin,
Tremonton, Wendover, Salt Lake City - Provo and Vernal Latilongs. The
rest were just "Summer Resident (breeding not documented)".

My only record outside of Washington County is Green River in Grand
County; 6/1/82.

More than you wanted know, huh?"
