So this week I conducted bird surveys between Capital Reef NP and the
Blanding area, sticking mostly to the riparian corridors. I won't go
into the details of every bird I saw in every place, but aside from
the Black-Chinned Sparrow that I sent out on birdnet, here are some
highlights. I had especially large numbers of these species:

Spotted Towhees
Blue-gray Gnatcatchers
Yellow Warblers
Ash-throated Flycatchers

In the last couple days I began to see more and more Common
Yellowthroat, Wilson's Warblers and Orange-crowned Warblers. Plumbeous
Vireos were quite numerous, but I also saw a handful of Warbling
Vireos in some locations.

One interesting sight, I thought, was a number of large flocks of
White-crowned Sparrows in the Hanksville area. The largest flock
seemed to be around 50 birds and had a mix of Chipping Sparrows and
Lark Sparrows traveling along with it.

Good birding,
