That should have read Arizona and New Mexico, not Utah and New Mexico. Here
is more detailed information about Utah's lone accepted sighting (in 2000,
not the 90's also):

I don't know if Chuck Larue still monitors this list, but if he does, he may
have more information fromm the Navajo Reservation in Southeast Utah.
