Utah has a single record of Canyon Towhee from Hatch Trading Post just northeast of Bluff from the winter during the 90's.
They are found just south of Utah Arizona Line in both Utah and NM.
I like to think they reach into that corner of the state, and documentation of one would be fantastic.
Good Birding

This morning I helped out with the weekly survey in a remote corner of
Arches. Previous species seen again include Juniper Titmouse, House
Finch, Rock and Canyon Wrens. New species include Black-chinned
Hummingbird, TONS of Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, and a handful of
Black-throated Gray Warblers.
Interesting side-note, my partner on the survey believes she saw a
Canyon Towhee at the same spot last weekend - did not relocate today.
Is that at all expected in this region?
Upon returning to my feeders, I found a Lazuli Bunting pair and a
Sandhill Flyover.
Keep on birding,
