[Birdtalk] Feeder update, South Weber

I have been busy so I haven't had a lot of time to watch the feeders lately
but today Kent saw our first Cassin's. I am so glad they are back. I need
to start watching for crossbills. I don't think we have had them before so
they would be great to have back.

This spring we have seen our Eurasian Doves back. I can tell it's the same
couple as last year because of the coloring anomaly. One is so white there
was discussion of the possibility of it being a ringed turtle dove or an
escaped turtle dove. These photos answer the questions I think. I am glad
they are back. Here are photos from last April and this month, for
comparison.

I have more if you want to see them, just let me know. They have been
around every since April of last year, and possibly earlier.

The other regulars at our feeders/yard are:
Pine Siskins ( a LOT of them, aggressive little monsters, I love their
spiked "hair")
Lesser Goldfinches
Downy Woodpecker
Red Winged Blackbirds
starlings (but not many and not often)
house sparrows
House Finches (We have seen finches on the nectar feeder but no hummers yet)
Mourning Doves
Eurasian Doves
Black Capped Chickadee
A very regular and persistent Sharpie
Misc Juncos (sorry Kris, I haven't been too attentive on color)
A Scrub Jay that already has us trained to fetch peanuts
Magpies that fly over but aren't allowed to stop except to chase off the
Sharpie
a LOT of Robins, we had a HUGE territory ceremony going on here the other
day, amazing

I am probably missing some but that's the brunt of them.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Brenda
