I went to see the Greater Sage Grouse at Henefer this morning around
6AM. I counted 90 birds. Sadly, they all flew away due to some bad "lek
etiquette" - several people got out of their cars. Only a few birds ever
came back, and they seemed too nervous to resume displaying.

Since that show ended earlier than expected, I decided to use the extra
time to go up to Alta. There were about a dozen Gray-crowned Rosy
Finches and a single Black Rosy Finch. The majority of the GC finches
were interior race, with only a couple of the Hepburn's mixed in. Also
seen were Cassin's Finches, Clark's Nutcracker, Steller's Jay, Mountain
Chickadees, and a Red-breasted Nuthatch.

Cheers,
Tom
