Yesterday I went up to Deedee and Dick O'Brien's neighborhood to see the BAND-TAILED PIGEONS, and saw two in their back yard. After driving around the whole area looking for more, the only ones I saw were in their backyard, which were visible from the street. Dick saw a cold, wet, birder wandering the neighborhood and very graciously invited me inside to get a better look at them, and even let me in their backyard to get some photos. It was a gray, rainy day so lighting was horrible, but I managed to photo shop my images enough to make some half way decent pictures. See them at http://www.flickr.com/photos/bryanto/3387608795/ What a great backyard bird, how luck are they! Which leads me to the point of this E-Mail: Does anyone else get them in their neighborhood too, or know of some other areas were they can be seen? If they are in their yard, there should be others around some were near by. These were my first Band-Tailed Pigeons in Utah, and I would
like to know more about their habits in the northern Wasatch. So if anyone else has any info or tips on seeing them, I would be very greatful to hear about it.
Good Birding
