[Birdtalk] So You want to look for Bendire's Thrasher?

I have had a number of inquiries about the location of the Thrasher form
last weekend, so I have decided to make a map for anyone interested and
posting it ion BIRDTALK instead of responding privately.

http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=108955673694923235613.00046559dd28dd486fbfe&ll=37.060657,-113.923759&spn=0.100547,0.22316&t=h&z=13

The PINK marker is where I had the bird last week. The YELLOW marker is
where I had one in 2007. The LIGHT BLUE marker is a location that has been
reliable in the past, but in recent years, it hasn't seemed to produce.

PLEASE, if you decide to go look for this species, use recordings sparsely.
The best time is probably early in the morning before it warms up on the
slope. Keep your eyes open as Scott's Oriole and Ash-throated Flycatcher
should be arriving in the next couple weeks.

Plenty of Cactus Wren and Black-throated Sparrow around and singing like
crazy already!
