Message: Hi Utah Birders,

I am going to be in Salt Lake City next week for a work conference (American Chemical Society, in case your wondering), and I hope to be able to squeeze in a little birding.  I was wondering if anyone has any information they could pass along on the following species:

Rosy Finches:  Are they still being seen in Alta this late in the season?  Where precisely would I look for them?

Red Crossbill:  I have been seeing reports for the UofU campus.  I might be willing to venture into enemy territory (I'm a BYU grad) for a life bird.  Once again, where would I look for these (and where would I park my car)?  Are there other places in Salt Lake that might be good.

Lewis's Woodpecker:  Is the location on Utahbirds.org still good?  Any other suggestions?  I will be driving down to St. George to visit my Grandma, so Utah County would be good too.

Sage Sparrow:  Are these reliable/possible anywhere near SLC.

Thanks in advance, and I appreciate all the posts from the last couple of weeks (and in the archives).  Even what seems like common stuff to you guys can be helpful for an out of town birder.
