[Birdtalk] red crossbills on USU campus

On my way home this afternoon, I saw 2 female red crossbills and what looked like to be a 1st year maleon Old Main hill at ~ 5:30 pm. The suspected 1st year male was a very bright yellowish-orange color on the breast, andhad a more yellowish-green head with some streaking underneath. It was very odd looking.Since crossbills may have aseasonal molts, I was not sure what to think.Any ideas out there?
