Just heard my first northbound CHIPPING SPARROW of the spring, singing from
the top of a spruce tree in the Cottonwood Heights area of Salt Lake City.
I would sassume more should be on the way shortly.

Also in the past week near the gravel pit at the mouth of Big Cottonwood
Canyon I had a flock of Gray-crowned Rosy-Finches catch my attention as they
took flight and started calling. The flock was maybe 100 birds and appeared
to land several hundred yards up on one of the slopes above the pit.

And had my first Cedar Waxwings of the year in the county about a week ago
when a flock of 20 or so flew over calling near 7000 South and 300 East.

Off to St. George to show Sam some cool birds!
