Within any species of bird there can be a wide range of variability. Pine
Siskin is an excellent example of a bird which can be pale and whitish in
overall color, to very dark and heavily streaked. In some species tha mount
of vairability can be small with very few variations between individual
birds. In other species you can often times label individual birds within a
flock as distinct individuals based off teh variablility in plumage.
Jeff's video isn't the best, he knows that, but I applaud him for his effort
to get some type of documentation. With that said, the bird in the video IS
a PINE SISKIN... a very pale Pine Siskin. I dont think I ahve seen any
quite this pale, but certainly some quite similar. Even taking a look at my
Siskin Gallery you can see variation between the individual birds pictured,
albeit not to the extent of Jeff's bird:
