Anne and I decided to take a Sunday afternoon trip to Golden Spike and
Spiral Jetty... glad we didn't wait for today!
Among interesting birds we saw were a Yellow-headed Blackbird and a Prairie
Falcon. Heard some Sparrows but I'm still working on my Sparrow songs - I
thought I might have heard a Brewer's but it doesn't seem likely according
to the guides. Any thoughts?
Also found a couple dozen dead White Pelicans (I assume leftovers from
Gunnison Island). I wonder if the minerals in the water will make for good
fossils!
