Mueller Park in Bountiful was busy with birds this morning. In the pine trees just up the canyon from the caretaker's trailer/second parking lot we found 10-12 White-winged Crossbills, RB Nuthatches, Brown Creeper, GC Kinglets, Pine Siskins, and Mountain and BC Chickadees. At Garr Ranch on Antelope Island, the Varied Thrush is still hanging around, and we saw one Virginia Rail and heard 3 others. The woodpile harbored a covey of California Quail. A couple of Hooded Mergansers and GT Grackles remain at the Kaysville Ponds.

Glover Ponds was full of birds, including Redhead, Canvasback, Am. Wigeon, Bufflehead, GW Teal, Shoveler, PB Grebe, GB Heron, Coot, Pintail, Cinnamon Teal, L. Scaup, Gadwall, AW Pelican, and Canada Goose. We heard, but could not see, Sandhill Cranes.
