This morning we had a Say's Phoebe in a tree across from our house in Logan. It was singing. Unfortunately it did not stay very long. Other birds from the weekend included the Tundra Swan's that were reported from the BAS field trip (they were still there this morning as previously reported near Sam Fellow's road), but no Snow Geese or Peregrine Falcon. We saw 20+ Sandhill Cranes near the Benson Marina. There was a beautiful male Hooded Merganser just east of the main Cutler Marsh bridge on the north side of the Valley View highway. I saw my first of the year Cinnamon Teal in the marshy area near the intersection 10th west and Valley View highway. At the Logan Fish Hatchery there were the usual gulls, but there were also a couple of Buffleheads and a Common Snipe.
Thanks.
Buck Russell
