Thanks to whoever gave me instructions to Sam Fellow Road. I went out there
to try to find the Snow Geese Alice Lindahl reported, but nothing but TNTC
gulls and Canda Geese. I thought I'd try my skills at hopefully spotting a
Greater White Fronted Goose, but there wasn't any of those out there,
either.
I have a question -- did someone post a sign that says "ConnieM is coming
... quick! hide!" ??

well, I did see some birds. My trip started with the 22 Swan fly over. I
called them Trumpeters (a ? was implied) because I mistakenly thought that
was the more common spp around here, but 2 people informed me they were most
likely Tundra Swans. So Tundra Swans I will go with. 22 of them Gorgeous
in flight and on the water. Dorky on land.

First I stopped at 20-20 Ponds:
Gadwall 2
Redhead 4
Northern Shoveler 4
American Coot 2
and, of course, the ever present Canada Goose - several.

On the Valley Hywy:
Sandhill Cranes 2
Northern Harrier 1
Red-tailed hawk 1
Common Ravens - lots
gull spp TNTC
I also thought I saw an immature Bald eagle, but he flew off before I could
get my spotting scope on him.

Sam Fellow Road:

American Kestrel 1
Canada Geese TNTC
Gull spp. TNTC

Cutler Reservoir
Northern Harrier
Sandhill Crane 6

When I got home, finally, there were huge numbers of gulls flying over my
house and 1 AMERICAN KESTREL. It was pretty Slim pickins for me today. On
days like this, I always wonder what stopped by the feeder in the back yard
that I might have really enjoyed. Oh well, there's always another day!
Good birding to all and to all a goodnight!
