I wanted to make the local birding community aware of a great speaker coming to WSU.
Dr. Marsha Sovada, Research Biologist, from the USGS Northern Prairie Wildlife Research Center will be speaking at WSU at 3pm on March 18. Her presentation will be - "Pelicans, predators and pathogens: impacts on American White Pelican Colonies. Over the past several years Dr. Sovada has documented reproductive failures at pelican colonies in Montana, North and South Dakota. Her data implicate three important factors, weather, predation and West Nile Virus. Everyone is welcome to attend! Given the current environmental threats to our Great Salt Lake populations, Dr. Sovada's presentation may provide some important insight.
Please go to the url below for further information about her work and the lecture.
