[Birdtalk] UCB Field Trip to Delta this Saturday

I can report that, as of Saturday, Feb 28, there remained very large flocks of Snow Geese present at Delta. Some of the largest flocks I've seen, in fact. But who knows what this Saturday might bring, especially now that hunting is being allowed.

The choice of eating establishments once you get to Delta is shrinking. The Tops City Cafe is permanently closed, the Loft Restaurant is closed until March 4, according to the sign on the door. And the Best Western Motel is now a Days Inn.

It may be wise to call the Delta Chamber of Commerce. Both of the previous two years Snow Geese have been absent from Delta by the end of the 1st week in March. And both years the birds have instead been in the Vicinity of Corrinne in Box Elder County.

Based off multiple reports of large flocks of migrating Snow Geese along the east edge of the Great Salt Lake it would appear that birds are on the move.
