When I first headed out, I saw a Perigrine Falcon flying over the freeway at
I-15 and 201 W.
There was a lot of waterfowl at Lee Kay today. I counted 193 Canvasback on
the main pond. The single Snow Goose was still around with a flock of about
100 Canada Geese. I didn't notice this the other day, but the Snow Goose
was walking with a severe limp. That might explain why it's at Lee Kay
Ponds. I also saw: Gadwall, Wigeon, Mallard, Northern Shoveler,
Green-Winged Teal, Redhead, Ring-Necked Duck, Bufflehead, Common Goldeneye,
Common Merganser, Ruddy Duck, Double-Crested Cormorant, Coot, Ring-Billed
and California Gull, Raven, Starling, Song Sparrow, Western Meadowlark and
Brewer's Blackbird.
At Jordan River I saw: Canada Geese, Redhead, (3) Common Goldeneye, (7)
Barrow's Goldeneye, Rock Pigeon, Black-Billed Magpie, American Robin, Yellow
Rumped Warbler, Song Sparrow, House Finch and House Sparrow.
Decker Lake was pretty boring today. The only thing that saved it was a
flyover Perigrine Falcon. Other than that I saw: Canada Goose, Gadwall,
Mallard, Northern Shoveler, Common Merganser, Killdeer, Ring Billed and
California Gull, Starling, Song Sparrow.
Good morning.
