Hi,

I spent a couple or so hours walking around Silver Lake. Nothing unusual,
but fun to have the snow gone. A good trip, in the lake area I saw lots of
Violet-green Swallows, White-crowned Sparrows, Yellow-rumps, Robins,
Mallards, Tree Swallows, House Finch, Lincoln's Sparrows, Red-tailed Hawk,
Mountain Chickadee,
Hammond's Flycatcher, Hairy Woodpeckers including a pair feeding some young
ones, Cordilleran Flycatcher, Western Tanager, Red-breasted Nuthatch,
Warbling Vireo, Song Sparrow, Spotted Sandpiper, Fox Sparrow, Broad-tailed
Hummingbird, Black-headed Grosbeak, and three Clark's Nutcrackers.

I went up Guardsman's Pass with the intention of walking up to Jupiter
Peak, but it started raining and there were several groups hiking up. I headed
for home, but on the way down from the parking lot I had a Steller's Jay
and Northern Goshawk fly by. I will definitely go up when the weather isn't
so stormy and I can spend a few more hours.
