Greetings -

Philadelphia has nothing on Salt Lake when it comes to brotherly love. The bond between Early and Lex is incredible!

The young falcons are making excellent progress. Both are flying and maneuvering well although Lex still makes some interesting landings.

The boys continue to receive food drops, but not without having to work for them. Sometimes dinner comes in the form of a game of hide and seek. The parents cache food in the nooks and crannies of the downtown buildings and the kids have to find it. The other method involves the flyby of a parent very near the birds while clutching prey. On the first few passes, the boys wail and pray for room service. When that doesn't happen, they lift off and follow the parent until s/he is satisfied with their performance. Then they are rewarded with a yummy pigeon pie, a big juicy frog or whatever else is on the menu.

The boys have tried on occasion to take their own prey, but so far no luck; however, their attempts are impressive.

The watch team would like to publicly thank the LDS church for their collaborative effort. Without their assistance and kindess, the falcon story wouldn't be written.

If you want the thrill of a lifetime, go see the falcons. They like to fly in the evening between 7:00 and 9:30. The church garden area offers some great vantage points and it is cool and beautiful in the evening. One of the boys' favorite places to hang out is on the east face of the temple on the middle spire and one or two levels below Moroni. Our radios are tunned to 2.1.

Enjoy -

The Falcon Watch Team
