Hi Folks -
Thanks to Cindy Sommerfeld for posting the falcon updates while I was out of town.
Saturday was another great day! Both Early and Lexie made several flights without incident. Early flies with confidence and has almost mastered "small space" landings. Lexie is a bit unsteady and needs a big flat place to put down, but he's coming along nicely.
These two birds are quite advanced compared to those in previous years and Val is quick to point out that's likely because they're both males.
The parents are making the kids work a little for their food - no more room service. They are allowed to fly free unless they get too far out of range and then the parents round them up.
Come on down and enjoy the falcons. They're quite spectacular! Look for the watch team in the area of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. We stick out like sore thumbs!
