Jeff,
Please don't apoligize, I believe this is not only worthwhile but everyone who loves birds, and is on this web site, needs to take up this cause. Of course everyone is free to choose. I have just written to them on their web site in hopes that others will also do so. I believe any messages and phone calls they get will help. I love being a volunteer at the Farmington Bay Nature Center, and the TNC. We do need more volunteer efforts to keep afloat. Here is a saying to ponder, and old native American proverb: "At the end we will only conserve what we love, we will only love what we understand, and we will only understand what we have been taught." Let's keep this going if at all possible.

MarJean

You can contact the Ogden Nature Center here: http://www.ogdennaturecenter.org/index.php/Contact-ONC-Staff/ONC-Staff/<http://www.ogdennaturecenter.org/index.php/Contact-ONC-Staff/ONC-Staff/>

I have first hand experience with this program and I believe it is very worth saving - a great educational resource and saving a bird life is always a nice thing to do.

My apologies if this borders on the political. Naysayers I invite you to ignore, delete or otherwise move along.

  Thank you and Good Birding.

I also read this story in the Standard Ex. Is there anyone that knows if this could be put on a government program? I for one am feeling sick about how our most important programs seem to be the first cut. This would be a great loss to our community, and especially to the 1000's of birds that have been saved through this rehab program. What can we do? There was not much mentioned in the do-able's. If we need to have a voice there, I know that Bill Fenimore used to be on that board of directors. Our Audubon boards should also be notified. I guess HELP!! is what we need.

      All,

My apologies if this post isn't squarely within the mission of this list, but it seems like time is running out for the bird rehab program at Ogden Nature Center.

If this program is important to you, please act now.

The story below explains the situation, and don't miss the comments.

      -Jessica

Bye bye, birdies. A vote by the board of directors of the Ogden Nature Center on Wednesday may put an end to the nonprofit's role in rehabilitating wild birds, leaving no such licensed organization in northern Utah. View Full Story<http://www.sltrib.com/ci_11473847?source=email>
