A phone call directly to the Ogden Nature Center, made sometime tomorrow, is the best strategy at this point. The vote is Wednesday! Try to contact Executive Director Mary McKinley.

For those of you who have never visited DaLynn Erickson and the bird rehab area up there, they do simply amazing work saving injured wild birds on a shoestring budget. I'm willing to bet that never a dollar is misspent, and they, quite literally, make miracles in a tiny space with lots of volunteer effort and the superhuman dedication and knowledge of DaLynn. Everyone who loves birds should speak out LOUDLY to support the bird rehab center!

Best,
Glenda

I also read this story in the Standard Ex. Is there anyone that knows if this could be put on a government program? I for one am feeling sick about how our most important programs seem to be the first cut. This would be a great loss to our community, and especially to the 1000's of birds that have been saved through this rehab program. What can we do? There was not much mentioned in the do-able's. If we need to have a voice there, I know that Bill Fenimore used to be on that board of directors. Our Audubon boards should also be notified. I guess HELP!! is what we need.

	All,

My apologies if this post isn't squarely within the mission of this list, but it seems like time is running out for the bird rehab program at Ogden Nature Center.

If this program is important to you, please act now.

The story below explains the situation, and don't miss the comments.

Bye bye, birdies. A vote by the board of directors of the Ogden Nature Center on Wednesday may put an end to the nonprofit's role in rehabilitating wild birds, leaving no such licensed organization in northern Utah. View Full Story <http://www.sltrib.com/ci_11473847?source=email>
