I was out on AIC from 11:30-2:00 today. Birding was rather slow, with not surprisingly Northern Shovelers being the the most numerous bird there. Oddly enough very few "little brown birds" around. I only saw one that kickly went deep into a brush. The following birds were seen:
Rough-legged Hawk (one first year light juvenile and one light adult male)
Prairie Falcon
American Kestrel
Northern Harrier
Bald Eagle (3)
Northern Shoveler
Common Goldeneye (hens greatly out numbering drakes)
Bufflehead
Green-winged Teal (1 hen)
Killdeer (1 lone one)
RB Gull
Jensen Park:
Great-tailed Grackle (15 - I actually did not sift through these as well as I should have so I don't know if any Common's were mixed in)
Red-headed Duck (1)
Green-winged Teal
Northern Shoveler
Mallard
Ring-necked Duck
Red-tailed Hawk
If you have not been to Jensen Park it is easily accessible off of Bluff Road in Syracuse and wheelchair accessible. The parking lot is open and strangely enough most of the water is open.
